Freight and Logistics jobs in Cannock
The freight and logistics industry can also be called the transport industry as it encompasses all modes of transport. Whether one is travelling by train, car, boat, or scooter, their main aim is to reach their destination at the quickest time possible. Without transport there would be no transactions of business as people would find it hard to move to one place or the other. 2.5 million people work in this industry with the majority of them being men. Although the number of women is increasing, it remains mainly male orientated.The jobs are mainly customer based and the pay is dependent on the type of job one does, the employer he has, the position he holds and the location of the company. Salaries will vary from company to company, much dependant on the position held. Qualifications are not necessary but depend on the job done. Delivery jobs in Cannock will not particularly require any qualifications, other than obviously a clean driving licence. Driving jobs in Cannock are fairly common. You can also get a job in other sectors in the industry like planning, IT, financing and managerial roles. You don’t have to depend only on driving jobs Cannock.
The cost of fuel has caused many companies to close down as they could not survive in this competitive industry. With long working hours and tough conditions, the freight sector attracts high pay to compensate the workers. This could be the reason why you find more men than women in this sector. The women may have families and find it hard to take some shifts which will see them stay away from home for a long time.
